A list of the key items that can be obtained in the game.
Key items are those that appear under the “Key Items” tab in the items section of the menu. These items are not used in battle and have various different uses throughout the game. Some of them disappear after they have been used.
The Celestial Mirror is used to transform Celestial Weapons in to their final form with all of their abilities. Refer to the Celestial Weapons side quest section.
Where to find it:
Obtained by transforming the Cloudy Mirror into the Celestial Mirror. Refer to the Celestial Mirror side quest section for additional details.
Withered Bouquet
Description:
“Someone put heart and soul into making this.”
Effect:
Has a one time use at the beginning of the game along with the Flint. Tidus uses the two of them to light a fire in the center of the Ruins.

Once you have obtained the Summoner’s Soul from Belgamine, you can begin teaching your Aeons abilities. This can be done by navigating to the Aeon menu and selecting the “Abilities” option.
Where to find it:
Received as a reward after defeating Belgamine for a second time. This is typically after the battle along the Moonflow.
Aeon’s Soul
Description:
“Allows you to raise Aeons’ attributes.”
Effect:
Once you have obtained the Aeon’s Soul from Belgamine, you can begin teaching your increasing the attributes of your Aeons. This can be done by navigating to the Aeon menu and selecting the “Abilities” option.
Where to find it:
Received as a reward after defeating Belgamine in the Calm Lands. Refer to the The Calm Lands walkthrough page for additional information.
Jecht’s Sphere
Description:
“A sphere recorded by Jecht ten years ago.”
Effect:
You can begin seeking out Jecht Spheres for Auron after you have obtained this first Jecht Sphere. Jecht Spheres are used to teach Auron his additional Overdrive abilities, known as Bushido.
Where to find it:
Received after you defeat Spherimorph in the Macalania Woods. Check out that section of the strategy guide for additional information. You should consider returning to Besaid once you’ve received it. Refer to the Jecht Spheres section for more information.
Rusty Sword
Description:
“An old, rusty sword.”
Effect:
You need to obtain this sword first in order to eventually obtain Auron’s Celestial Weapon, the Masamune.

Al Bhed Primer
Description:
“Teaches the letter “-” in Al Bhed.”
Effect:
Al Bhed Primers are used to teach you the Al Bhed language. They can be found throughout Spira and many of them cannot be obtained if you accidentally miss them as you play through the game.
There are a total of 26 Al Bhed Primers that you can find throughout the game. Tidus will gain 9 different ranks as he obtains more Primers.

Effect:
The Blossom Crown, along with the Flower Scepter, is used to break the seal blocking the doorway at the back of the Remiem Temple. You need to break the seal in order to obtain the Magus Sisters Aeon.
Where to find it:
The Blossom Crown is received as a reward for capturing all of the fiends in the Mt. Gagazet area. Check out the Monster Arena section for more information.
Flower Scepter
Description:
“Seems to have some connection with a hidden aeon…”
Effect:
The Flower Scepter, along with the Blossom Crown, is used to break the seal blocking the doorway at the back of the Remiem Temple. You need to break the seal in order to obtain the Magus Sisters Aeon.
Where to find it:
The Flower Scepter is received as a reward for defeating Belgamine’s Aeon, Bahamut, at Remiem Temple.
Mark of Conquest
Description:
“Given to those who have surpassed mortal bounds.”
Effect:
This item has no effect. It is a useless reward received for defeating Nemesis.
Where to find it:
Defeat the most difficult enemy in the Monster Arena: Nemesis. In order to make Nemesis appear, you must obtain all of the creatures in the Monster Arena and defeat each of them.
Once you have obtained the Aeon’s Soul from Belgamine, you can begin teaching your increasing the attributes of your Aeons. This can be done by navigating to the Aeon menu and selecting the “Abilities” option.
