Trial Mode - Stage 1 through 10

Tips on how to complete each of the Stages and a list of the items that can be picked up from treasure chests or stolen from the enemies. Note that you need to have Diamond Armlet equipped in order to obtain the treasure listed. Opening the treasure chest without a Diamond Armlet will result in you receiving consumable and expendable items.

Stage 1
Dire Rat (x6)
Battle against the Dire Rats in Trial Mode Stage 1

This is an extremely easy battle against six Dire Rat enemies - the same type of enemies that Vaan fights in the Garamsythe Waterway at the beginning of the game. You can also obtain a Diamond Armlet from one of the treasure chests (and this is the easiest way to obtain one).

Just open one of the treasure chests without having a Diamond Armlet equipped which is easy to do if you do not have one yet.

Treasure Chests:
- First Aid
- Headguard

Stage 2
Thextera, Alpha Wolf, Alpha Hyena
Battle against Thextera, Alpha Wolf and Alpha Hyena during Trial Mode Stage 2

Another relatively easy battle – it is similar to the Hunt battle against Thextera. Check out the Hunt 02: Wolf in the Waste page if you need additional tips for defeating the wolf.

Treasure Chests:
- Fire
- Headguard

Stage 3
Flowering Cactoid, Cactoids and Cactites
Battle against the Flowering Cactoid and Cactites during Trial Mode Stage 3

The Flowering Cactoid can be difficult to hit with regular attacks. If you are having difficulty defeating it, switch to using Fire Magick and hit it with Blind and Slow Magick if possible.

You can make a Ripe Rampager enemy appear in this area if you walk towards the cactus on the ground away from the spawn point.

Stolen from Flowering Cactoid:
- Common: Longsword
- Uncommon: Mythril Blade
- Rare: Karkata

Stolen from Ripe Rampager:
- Common: Bronze Shield
- Uncommon: Gauntlets
- Rare: Round Shield

Treasure Chests:
- Cure
- Leather Breastplate

Stage 4
Razorfin, Ichthon (x4)
Battle against Razorfin and Ichthons during Trial Mode Stage 4

This battle involves defeating a Razorfin and four Ichthon enemies. All of the enemies are weak to Thunder-element and Magicks and will absorb Water-element attacks and Magicks such as Aqua.

Treasure Chests:
- Pointy Hat
- Onion Arrows

Stage 5
Nekhbet, a Werewolf and Cockatrice (x4)
Battle against Nekhbet, a Werewolf and Cockatrice during Trial Mode Stage 5

This stage involves defeating a Nekhbet, Werewolf and four Cockatrice enemies. They are relatively easy to defeat and are weak to Water-element attacks. There is no particular strategy required for this stage.

Stolen from Werewolves:
- Common: Windbreaker
- Uncommon: Chainmail
- Rare: Berserker Bracers

Treasure Chests:
- Blindna
- Silken Shirt

Stage 6
Cluckatrice, Chickatrice (x4)
Battle against Cluckatrice and Chickatrices during Trial Mode - Stage 6

This stage involves defeating Cluckatrice and several Chickatrice. This battle is the exact same as the battle against the same Mark during Hunt 33: Little Love on the Big Plains. The birds are weak to Earth Magick and will absorb Fire Magick.

Treasure Chests:
- Onion Bolts
- Bronze Helm

Stage 7
Judge (x2), Imperial Swordsman (x2), Imperial Magus
Battle against Judges and Imperials during Trial Mode Stage 7

This battle is very similar to the battle against the Judges aboard the Dreadnought Leviathan just before you rescue Princess Ashe. The humes will take half-damage from all elements so focus on using physical attacks to bring them down.

Treasure Chests:
- Bronze Armor
- Libra

Stage 8
Bagoly (x6)
Battle against Bagoly enemies during Trial Mode Stage 8

This battle involves defeating six Bagoly enemies which are just standard foes that you would face in the Nam-Yensa Sandsea or in the Phon Coast. They are weak to Earth Magick.

You can make an optional Imdugud enemy appear if you stand still in the circular area in the center of the zone.

Stolen from Imdugud:
- Common: Killer Bow
- Uncommon: Sirius
- Rare: Paramina Crossbow

Treasure Chests:
- Bangle
- Onion Shot

Stage 9
Lich (x3)
Battle against Liches during Trial Mode Stage 9

The Lich enemies are weak to Holy-element damage. You can also make a Cultsworn Lich enemy appear if you travel towards the doorway that appears on your right side when you first enter the zone.

- Uncommon: Agate Ring
- Rare: Magick Gloves

Stolen from Cultsworn Lich:
- Common: Golden Shield
- Uncommon: Flame Shield
- Rare: Lamia’s Tiara

Treasure Chests:
- Argyle Armlet
- Onion Bombs

Stage 10
Belias
Battle against Belias during Trial Mode Stage 10

The last of the first round of stages involves a repeat battle against the Esper, Belias. You will naturally have to obtain Belias as part of the regular story mode when you complete the Tomb of the King Raithwall.

Make sure not to use Fire Magick or weapons on Belias. Use Aqua Magick if you have it and cast Slow if you are having trouble withstanding its attacks. Use Handkerchiefs to remove the Oil status effect to reduce the amount of damage the Belias does.

Stolen:
- Common: Sword of Kings
- Rare: Goddess’s Magicite

Treasure Chests:
- Argyle Armlet
- Onion Bombs

You will receive an additional reward for completing Stages 1 through 10 which includes:
