Vaan
Vaan is the lead protagonist of Final Fantasy XII and the first character you take control of, a street orphan in Rabanastre who dreams of becoming a sky pirate.
Vaan is the party’s jack-of-all-trades with high HP and Strength, and with no glaring weakness in any of his other stats, so he functions well in almost any role. The table below provides an overview of his stats.
Stats
The table below ranks all six party members in each stat at Level 99 in The Zodiac Age. A ranking of 1 is the highest in the party for that stat, and characters with the same value share a ranking.

The gaps between each character’s stats are very small, and most stats can be raised to the maximum values with equipment and the License Board. Check out the Best Party section for a more detailed analysis of character stats.
Recommended Jobs
Vaan’s balanced stats mean almost any Job combination works, but his high Strength suits a physical, front-line build.
- Shikari plus Foebreaker for a fast, hard-hitting attacker with Genji gear and Break Technicks.
- Knight plus Bushi for a durable sword-and-katana damage dealer who can also pick up curative Magicks.
