Step-by-Step Guide for the End-Game Content

This page can be helpful if you’ve reached the final chapters of the game and want to complete all the side quests and endgame content before moving forward with the story. Once you’ve completed all of the chapters and visited all of the locations, you have reached the ‘official’ end of the game, and the remaining content is entirely optional.

Additionally, you can complete the side quests in Final Fantasy X-2 in any order. You don’t have to complete them in the order listed below, but following this guide will help you avoid missing anything and complete them as efficiently as possible.

Already Completed?

At this point in the game, you’ve likely completed each of these Side Quests already, but it’s worth double-checking to make sure. There are some additional steps you may need to complete if you’re planning to earn all of the achievements/trophies:

You can also return to Besaid Island to earn a higher score in the Gunner’s Gauntlet. You’ll need to achieve the highest level (LVMAX) in Gunner’s Gauntlet to earn Silver Trophy IconThe Gunner achievement/trophy:

If you sent a Lv. 5 Chocobo to the Mi’ihen Highroad (and it returned), you can return there to visit the Fiend Colony. Leave this until later, though, if you’re planning to earn all of the achievements/trophies, and if you plan to complete Shinra’s Bestiary. There’s a more opportune time to visit later:

During the Chocobo Ranch side quest, you should have also opened up and completed the Ruin Depths and obtained the Amazing Chocobo.

Return to Luca as well so you can win a Blitzball match if you haven’t already. You’ll need to do this to earn the Bronze Trophy IconTeamwork! Achievement/Trophy.

Efficiency - Combining Via Infinito and Shinra’s Bestiary

And now, it’s time to complete the rest of the Via Infinito. If you’ve been following this guide, you’ve only reached Cloister 20, so you have 80 Cloisters left. This is an arduous task that takes a long time. But what many players don’t realize is that you’ll quite often need to visit it a second time if you’re planning to complete Shinra’s Bestiary.

To keep it short, you’ll need to complete Shinra’s Bestiary if you’re attempting to earn the Gold Trophy IconMonster Master Achievement/Trophy, and there’s a way to efficiently complete the bestiary WHILE you are descending your way through the Via Infinito. If you’re planning to complete Shinra’s Bestiary, you should check out that section of the guide first. But if not, use the link below, and you can delve straight into the Via Infinito:

Note that you do not need to complete Shinra’s Bestiary to earn 100% Story Completion Percent. You do need to complete the Via Infinito, though, as there are three lines of dialogue that trigger and count toward Story Completion. One is during a scene at Cloister 60, and two at Cloister ∞, past the dungeon’s two superbosses, Paragon and Trema. The Via Infinito page covers the strategies for both.

Finally, if you’re attempting to earn all of the achievements and trophies, you’ll need to spend some time in the Creature Creator. The Creature Creator isn’t required to earn 100% Story Completion, though, so it’s recommended that you leave it until after you’ve completed the game. That said, you can read up more about it here:

And with that, you should be ready to move on to the last section of the game, and if you’ve been following the guide up to this point and have been working towards 100% Story Completion, it’s time to get those last percentage points.
