You’ll find yourself in control of three new characters (Laguna, Kiros and Ward) in the forested areas outside of Timber. Each of your three new party members will automatically be equipped with the Guardian Forces and magic that Squall, Selphie and Zell had equipped.
You may encounter some enemies as you travel through the forest but they are incredibly easy to defeat, especially if you leveled your Guardian Forces or if you spent any time playing Triple Triad.
The path through the forest is completely linear. There is a Cure Draw Point along one of the grassy trails. At the end of the path you will find a Galbadian Soldier vehicle. Jump in and it will automatically drive your new team to Deling City.
As you progress through the game, you are going to come across a number of Draw Points, and this Cure Draw Point may be one of them, where all three of your main characters are all fully stocked up on that magic already.
If you are playing the remastered edition of the game on PlayStation 4 or Steam and you plan on going after all of the Trophies, one of the them requires you to make use of 100 Draw Points total. You can make this much easier to obtain if you get in the habit of transferring low level magic to your other party members so that at least one of your party members is always able to Draw from these Draw Points.
You can still very easily get the trophy at the end of the game, but something consider as you are skipping past all of these Draw Points.
Make your way to the Galbadia Hotel which can be found by traveling southeast away from where Laguna “parked” the vehicle in the middle of the road.
Go through the entrance of the hotel and down into the bar in the basement. Talk to the lady in blue near the stage and then prepare for a ton of dialogue.
The following scenes involve Laguna meeting Julia for the first time and getting to know her better up in her room at the hotel. Afterwards, you will regain control of Squall, Selphie, and Zell as the train reaches the town of Timber.
