Selphie makes an early appearance in the game, when Squall first leaves the Balamb classroom, but doesn’t fully introduce herself or join your team until later on during the Dollet SeeD mission.
She transferred to Balamb Garden from her home school of Trabia Garden and grew up in that region deep in the north. She has a much more outgoing personality compared to Squall and many of the other team members, and takes an active role in motivating the group and putting on social events.
