The story will lead Vaan through the Garamsythe Waterway on his way to explore the Royal Palace. He will also end up in the Garamsythe Waterway with Balthier and Fran when they leave the Royal Palace later on.

There is a passageway leading through to the Barheim Passage that can be accessed later on in the game.
