Slots

Wakka’s Overdrive is called “Slots.” When activated, a set of three slot machine reels appears on the screen, accompanied by a 20-second timer. You can press the X button to stop each reel one at a time. The resulting Slot attack depends on how many of the reels match.

Reel Effects

Match Results	Effect
No reels match.	A basic physical attack at roughly double the power of a regular attack against one random enemy.
Two reels match.	The effect of the matching symbol is applied to one random enemy.
All three reels match (Jackpot!)	The effect of the matching symbol is applied to all enemies.

Slot Abilities

Ability	Unlock Requirement	Reel Symbols	Description
Elemental Reels	Available at the start of the game.	Red (Fire) White (Ice) Yellow (Lightning) Blue (Water)	Deals elemental damage based on the matched symbol. If no symbols match, a non-elemental critical hit is used on one random enemy.
Attack Reels	Win a Blitzball tournament.	Hit count symbols (1 or 2).	The total number of hits equals the sum of all three of the reels. If all three reels match, the hit count is doubled. A perfect roll of 2-2-2 will deal 12 hits at normal attack power, which is one of the highest damage Overdrives in the game.
Status Reels	Play approximately 250 Blitzball games.	Skull (Poison, Sleep, Silence, Darkness) Down Arrow (Full Break) Timer (Petrification, Slow)	If you don’t match any status effects, Wakka will hit one enemy with a regular attack. If two statuses match, that status will be applied to one enemy. If three statuses match, that status will be inflicted on all enemies.
Auroch Reels	Play approximately 450 Blitzball games.	Mixed symbols.	Despite being the final Slots Overdrive, Auroch Reels is generally considered the weakest due to the difficulty of lining up the reels. It also deals lower damage than “Attack Reels.”

Wakka’s Strengths

Wakka’s “Attack Reels” Overdrive makes him one of the more powerful characters in the game, given the amount of damage it can deal to an enemy. With Break Damage Limit and high Strength, the damage output can be pushed even higher. Check out the “Best Party” section for more information:
