Overdrive Modes
By default, each character’s Overdrive gauge will charge when they take damage from an enemy. This setting can be changed later in the game though as characters gain access to new Overdrive Modes.
You can change each character’s Overdrive mode by opening the menu, selecting the “Overdrive” option, hitting the Cancel button ( or 
), selecting “Set Mode”, and finally, choosing one of the available Overdrive Modes from the list.
 
				Different Overdrive Modes are learned for each character when they complete certain tasks as you progress through the game. Each of them is listed below.
Stoic
- Charge rate:
- “Charges when character takes damage.”
- Increment:
- (damage received) * 30 / (maximum HP)
- How its learned:
- Each character has this Overdrive Mode learned by default.
Warrior
- Description:
- “Charges when character damages an enemy.”
- Charge rate:
- (damage inflicted) x 10 / (estimated damage) * 3 [maximum 16]
- How its learned:
- When your character damages an enemy (not through Overdrives or with items).

Comrade
- Description:
- “Charges when allies take damage.”

Healer
- Description:

- Tips for obtaining:
- Find an enemy like a Malboro, Ochu or Mandragora that will hit your characters with numerous status effects over the course of a battle.
Dancer

Avenger

							You can either battle Tonberries (who counterattack with a very powerful attack) or by battling a Master Coeurl. Have your characters use  Provoke on it, and it will counterattack with an attack called “Blaster,” which has a high likelihood of KO’ing the character. Slayer

- Defeating enemies with 10,000 HP or more

- Tips for obtaining:
- You will naturally encounter enemies with 10,000 HP in the Omega Ruins or Inside Sin.
Rook
- Description:
- “Charges when character magically blocks attack.”

							Blocking attacks using Magic abilities including  NulBlaze, NulBlaze, NulShock, NulShock, NulTide, NulTide, NulFrost or NulFrost or Reflect. Reflect.

- When your character has a turn when they are the only party member left standing.
- How many times for each character:

- Tips for obtaining:
- Kill of your own party members during a battle and then skip turns until you obtain it. Best done during battles against lower leveled enemies.
