Varuna will always cast 
Haste on itself at the start of the battle (except in the Monster Arena). Varuna is fairly strong, but no specific strategies are required to beat it. Just make sure that you’re party members are prepared to deal with the damage that comes from its attacks, which include “Mana Focus” and “Emblem of Fate”, and keep attacking until you bring it down.
Varuna is resistant to all magic except Holy, so have Yuna use that spell if you have obtained it.

Location
You can find them in the Omega Ruins, but they can be challenging to track down and capture. There is no specific area where they are more abundant, but they do become more abundant in the areas around where you fight Omega Weapon after it is defeated. Refer to the Omega Ruins guide in the Side Quests section for additional information.
