The Great Malboro is one of the most challenging regular fiend fights that you will encounter during a playthrough, especially inside the Omega Ruins. This stems from two factors: Great Malboro will always ambush you (in the Omega Ruins only), getting in the first attack, and it will always attack with Bad Breath, which can easily take apart your party.
So how do you defeat a Great Malboro?
You can prepare for a battle against a Great Malboro by customizing your equipment with the 
Ribbon auto-ability, but the best method of defeating them is to customize one of your weapons with the First Strike auto-ability. Check out the First Strike Tips and Tricks page for more information.
First Strike will allow you to get the first attack in, but that means that Great Malboro will still use Bad Breath as the second attack, so what should you do? You can have the player with the First Strike use 
Provoke which will force Great Malboro to use a regular attack rather than Bad Breath.
Kimahri can use Lancet on a Great Malboro to learn Bad Breath for his Ronso Rage Overdrive.
