The Alcyone is a Bird-type enemy that can be found in Bikanel. You need to capture five of each Bird-type enemy in order to unlock Pteryx in the Species Conquest section of the Monster Arena.
Alcyone can be defeated easily by using Wakka’s Blitzball to attack them. Alternatively, though not as effective, Lulu can use her Magic-based attacks on them (
Fire or Fira specifically). They can hit your characters with the Darkness status affect though when they attack, so take them out as quickly as possible.
