Gun Mage

The Gun Mage is similar to a Blue Mage or other classes that are able to learn enemy abilities (similar to Quistis in Final Fantasy VIII or Quina in Final Fantasy IX).

Overview

The Gun Mage has a number of attacks that it can learn, not just through its Blue Bullet abilities, which allow it to learn certain enemy abilities that are used on it, but also through its Fiend Hunter abilities. These attacks cause the Gun Mage’s attacks to deal 4 times the damage as long as you select the right fiend type, and you can use its Scan command to make sure you’re using the right one.

This Dressphere isn’t necessarily as good if you’re not aware of the specific situations that occur in the game where it becomes useful. For example, if you don’t know how and where to pick up certain Blue Bullet abilities, you’ll leave the Gun Mage’s most effective attacks on the table and never get to use them.

How to Obtain It

The Gun Mage Dressphere can be earned on your first visit to the Moonflow. Complete the Mission for Tobli, and he will provide it to you as a reward:
