Smooth like Butter
This page provides an overview of how to complete the Smooth like Butler Optional Quest.
Unlock Conditions
This quest unlocks once you have completed the three Main Scenario Subquests of 
Things Fall Apart, including “The Flames of War,” “Why We Fight,” and “Down the Rabbit Hole.”
However, for this quest, you’ll need to first travel to the Krozjit Echoes to open up access to the other Obelisks, which means you’ll have to be on the Cloak and Dagger Main Scenario Quest.
Quest Giver and Location
This quest is activated by reading a missive called 
A Humble Request. The missives can be found at the 
Reading Table in Clive’s Chambers in the Hideaway.
Quest Details
Travel to the 
Martha’s Rest Obelisk and head into the Golden Stables to meet with Rutherford. You can find him on the second floor up the stairs, and after speaking with him, he will send you to meet with his colleague in Dalimil (warp to The Dalimil Inn Obelisk).
Rutherford’s nameless colleague can be found just outside the southern gates of town. He’s surrounded by a group of Republican Scepters and Scimitars that are easy to defeat. After the battle and the cutscene, make your way to the Northreach Obelisk.
The “Stranded Gent,” a.k.a. the second of Rutherford’s colleagues, can be found a short distance away from the market to the east. He will direct you further east to deal with a group of robbers. Switch to your single-target 
Eikonic Ability Set.
There is technically more than one target in this next fight, but the most challenging enemy to take down will be “Spring-heeled Jacques,” another large axe-wielding enemy. By now, you’re familiar with this enemy’s moveset.
Fast travel back to Rutherford at Martha’s Rest to complete the quest.

Next Steps
Three other Optional Quests can be completed once this one becomes available; however, the other ones require moving into the next Main Scenario Quest (Cloak and Dagger) so that you can travel to the other Obelisks. The other quests you can complete are:
