Macalania Woods and Mt. Gagazet

This last visit to Macalania Woods is another easy one with just a few tasks to complete to wrap up the Episode before you move on to the next area.

Travel back to the Spring where you spoke with Tromell and picked up Full Throttle. A treasure chest along the shimmering path contains a Rune Bracer accessory you can pick up along the way.

Spring (North)

On the left side of the spring, you’ll find a person in a robe. Speak to them, and they will leave the area, triggering a short cutscene. After it has concluded, head back to the Save Sphere, travel to the right through two screens, and head back to the southern spring area.

Spring (South)

Once again, another cutscene will trigger when you enter the area. You’ll regain control of Yuna after the first scene, but step forward a few steps to trigger another scene. Yuna will stand there for a little while by herself before leaving and concluding this Episode. You’ll also receive a Ray of Hope Garment Grid as a reward for completion.

You’ll automatically be transported back up to the Celsius, but head right back down to Macalania Woods and make your way back to Lake Macalania to meet with O’aka XXIII.

Lake Macalania

A cutscene will play out as soon as you reach the Travel Agency, where O’aka XXIII has taken up residence. This is the reward for hiding him aboard in Chapter 1 and clearing his debt in Chapter 2. He and his brother, Wantz, will go back and forth before you see another “Episode Complete” message. That’s all there is to do (besides grabbing the treasure chest that contains an Elixir).

The next destination is Mt. Gagazet, because you’re going to want to leave Bikanel Desert, Bevelle, and the Calm Lands until later.

Mt. Gagazet

Another easy Episode. Warp down to Mt. Gagazet and walk a short distance towards the entrance to the mountain to kick off a cutscene between Kimahri and Garik. After the scene, Garik starts working his way up the mountain.

Run back down and talk to Kimahri again to trigger another scene. This interaction with Kimahri changes depending on how many times you interacted with Lian and Ayde throughout each chapter. They will describe their journeys to Kimahri at this point in the game. As a reminder, the interactions with them included:

• Meeting with them in the Calm Lands in Chapter 2
• Meeting with them in the Thunder Plains in Chapter 3
• Sending them to either Djose, Moonflow, or Kilika

Kimahri will begin his journey up the Mountain Trail following behind Garik. You can either follow him along the Mountain Trail, or use the teleporter if you activated it to quickly warp to the “Mountain Trail” warp point, which leads you right to the next interaction. That said, even if you did activate the teleporter, it doesn’t hurt to travel this trail and get your characters some EXP.

Approaching Kimahri and Garik will trigger another cutscene that takes place here on the mountain trail, followed by another one up closer to the summit near the statue. This completes the Mt. Gagazet episode, and you’ll receive a Sacred Beast Garment Grid, but you’re not done here yet.

Select Mt. Gagazet from the map again, and you’ll arrive back at the top of the mountain. Climb the cliffs to the left of the Save Sphere up to where the group of Ronso is hanging around, and look for Lian and Ayde close to the statue. Engage them in conversation, and you’ll receive your reward for helping them with their travels (a Conflagration Garment Grid).

This completes your tasks in Macalania Woods and on Mt. Gagazet. Now it’s finally time for us to return to the Calm Lands.
