Gold Saucer
The Gold Saucer is an important location for the story of the game, as well as several side quests that you can complete. You will visit it multiple times during a regular playthrough, and you can find it on the eastern section of the westernmost continent.
The only way to access Gold Saucer is by taking the tram from North Corel, as an impassable desert surrounds the area.
The story of the game takes you through Gold Saucer twice…
The first visit to Gold Saucer is in the middle of Disc 1, where you run into Cait Sith for the first time and where your team gets thrown into Corel Prison after you discover the massacre at Battle Square.
The second visit to Gold Saucer occurs after the team visits Rocket Town, escapes in the Tiny Bronco, and searches for clues to find the Keystone, which ultimately turns out to be located in Gold Saucer. This visit is where the infamous date scene with Cloud occurs. Check out the Gold Saucer Date guide in the Side Quest section for additional details.
