Footfalls in Ash

Skaithfarr
You’ll arrive at The Shadow Coast Obelisk in the Skaithfarr area just ahead of the Angry Gap. Jump on your
Chocobo and head for the nearby town of Wolfdarr. There are three treasure coffers that you can grab in this area. Use the map below to help you locate them:

There is also a Notorious Mark that you can take on in the large, open area on the west side of the town.

Pandemonium
Notorious Mark / Hunt

“Those few souls who were able to escape from Ash before the skies changed tell of Pandemonium, the King of the Orcs, who led his fellow beastmen in revolt against Waloeder rule. Though his rebellion was swiftly crushed by King Barnabas’s armies, many of the orcs who now roam the Twins, sating their appetite for human flesh, bear his markings—suggesting that he still commands his forces today.”

Make sure you grab the treasure coffer near the gate where Pandemonium emerged to obtain a set of Regal Armguards.
The reward for completing this Hunt is a Stained Loincloth, and with the
Morbol Flower you obtained from defeating
Carrot, you now have everything you need to craft a new set of Vambraces. Note that you’ll have to warp back to
The Shadow Coast Obelisk and run back to this location if you head back to the Hideaway now, but if you do, you can craft…

Continue heading west from Wolfdarr and go through the large iron gate at the edge of town (using the switch on the right side to open the gate). Follow the trail until you reach the Main Scenario Quest Marker . Joshua will leave the party as they make their way towards the village of Eistla.

Mount your Chocobo again and follow the path forward.

The Angry Gap
This is a vast and open area of the game. There isn’t a lot to see or do here, but there are some treasure coffers you should pick up in this area. Use the map below to help you find them:

Chronoliths
Warning
There is a Chronolith in the Angry Gap area, and this strategy guide continues to recommend completing the Chronoliths towards the end of the game.
The Chronoliths are time trials where you’ll be restricted to using one Eikon’s abilities, but they are much easier if Clive is higher leveled and if he has better gear. The rewards for completing them are not necessarily that great, so you can save them for later, but if you’d rather challenge yourself and complete them now that they’re available, check out the Chronolith section for more information.

Cross the bridge, but before you head into town, grab the treasure coffer on the cliffs on the left side to obtain twenty Bloody Hides. Open the door and head into the village.

Eistla
A large group of Akashic Sigfreyrs, Osfreyrs, Gandfreyrs, and Mastiffs will ambush Clive, Gav, and Torgal. This is another excellent opportunity to use Diamond Dust to take out large swathes of them quickly.

After a few waves, you’ll face off against another Akashic War Aevis, a creature you should now be very familiar with. Finally, you’ll need to defeat one more Akashic Sveithvaldr, which is the same as the one you defeated in Kanver.

The next quest objective is to search the abandoned village. Before we follow the Main Scenario Quest Marker , though, head up the stairs to activate the
Eistla Obelisk, and then grab the treasure coffers located around town. Use the map below to help you find them, and note that the one in “The Maudlin Mason” is up on the second floor.

If you didn’t do so already, head back to the Hideaway to have Blackthorne craft The Sons of Ouroboros vambraces, and then head into the nearby structure once you’ve picked up all the treasure.
There’s quite a bit of dialogue and a few cutscenes to watch before you’ll find yourself back in control of Clive outside the dilapidated house. Follow the quest marker and go through the large wooden doors on the east side of town.

Halfcombe
You have a long way to go, so jump back on your Chocobo and continue riding until you reach a cave along the pathway. There is a treasure coffer if you take a right in the cave, so keep an eye out for it. You can use the map below to help you find it:

This treasure coffer contains the Adamantite Gauntlets accessory, which provides quite a bit of extra HP to Clive when equipped.

Continue heading south until you reach “The Edge of Infinity,” which will activate a new Obelisk, take you back to the world map (where you can select Reverie), and take you to the next chapter of the game.
