Carrot

The section provides an overview of how to track down and defeat the Notorious Mark for the Carrot Hunt.
In-Game Description
“If you should come across a red carrot protruding from the marshes of Three Reeds, do not attempt to pull it from the swampy soil. It is, in truth, another root vegetable entirely—an exotic species of morbol that uses a modified, carrot-like vine as a lure to draw its prey close, before emerging from the earth and swallowing them whole. A cruel way for Nature to turn these times of privation to her advantage.”
Unlock Conditions
This Hunt is completed during the Please, Sir, Can I Have Some Morbol Optional Quest. This quest becomes available after you complete the short “Like Father, Like Daughter” Main Scenario Subquest during

Notorious Mark Location
This Notorious Mark can be found in “The Whispering Waters” area of Rosaria. Use the Three Reeds Obelisk to get there.

This Morbol is very similar to the Morbol you defeated during “Lost in a Fog,” and the Akashic Morbol you defeated at Drake’s Breath during “Fire and Ice.”
Its moves include:
- Standard Attacks (Tentacle Stab and Tentacle Sweep): There are two standard attacks with different animations that Carrot will use. The first is where it will lift its tendrils straight up and slam them down. The second is when the Carrot winds up with its tendrils to the side, like it’s about to throw a big haymaker. If you charge in, expect to get hit by one of these right from the start.
- Bad Breath and Worse Breath: Bad Breath is just the regular, front-facing attack, but with “Worse Breath,” Carrot will rotate in position, breathing out toxic fumes. You can still dodge through Worse Breath, though, but getting the timing down can be challenging.
- Putrid Cloud: Carrot will take a giant breath, like it’s about to sneeze, before emitting a large cloud of damage in all directions. The easiest way to tell when it’s using this attack is when you start to see a visible green cloud start to form at the base of the creature.
- Acid Spit: Carrot will launch between one and three puddles of acid on the ground around it. Getting hit by the acid or standing in the acid after it’s hit the ground will deal damage to Clive.
- Wild Rage: Carrot will run in a straight line forward, dealing damage to anything in its path, so get out of the way. After the first charge, it will turn around to target Clive and charge again. Get some distance when you see the words “Wild Rage” on the screen and be ready to use the
button to dodge Carrot as it rushes towards you.
- Burrow: This attack replaces the “Tentacle Forest” attack that the Akashic Morbol used. Carrot will jump into the air and slam down on the ground wherever Clive is standing. It will be temporarily stunned after this attack, allowing you to get a few attacks in yourself.
