Blacksmith’s Blues II
This page provides an overview of how to complete the Blacksmith’s Blues II Optional Quest.

This quest becomes available after you’ve completed the three “Letting Off Steam” quests during the 
Out of the Shadow Main Scenario Quest.
Quest Giver and Location
This quest is activated by reading a missive called 
About Blackthorne… The missives can be found at the 
Reading Table in Clive’s Chambers in the Hideaway.
Quest Details
Speak to Blackthorne to begin the quest, and then speak to Charon about the sword he was talking about. Next, travel to 
The Dalimil Inn Obelisk out in Western Dhalmekia. Seek out Ignac, who can be found on the second floor of the Inn.
Clive will have a short discussion with Radim, who will ask you to track down some thieves who stole from Lord Ignac. The thieves can be found in the northeast section of the Velkroy Desert in an area called “The Bandit’s Bed.” It’s very close to where you fought 
Fastitocalon.
Use The Velkroy Desert Obelisk and mount your 
Chocobo to ride to the location. You will have a few targets to fight, but the largest one is the one you will spend the most time on, so it’s best to use your single-target 
Eikonic Ability Set.
The battle involves defeating three “Bedmakers,” which are spellcasting enemies that you should focus down first, followed by an “Innkeeper.” The Innkeeper is just like any of the other axe and mace-wielding enemies that you’ve faced up to this point; it’s easy to defeat.
Clive will automatically return to the Dalimil Inn with Lord Ignac’s luggage. He will provide Clive with the 
Sundered Whetstone item for Blackthorne. Warp back to the Hideaway to complete the quest.
