CommSpheres - Wave 1
Chapter 4 is different from the other chapters of the game. Most of the areas that you could visit in previous chapters are locked out for the duration of this one. Instead, your interactions with the inhabitants from these areas will be restricted to viewing them through the CommSphere.
Unfortunately, this is the most boring chapter. As mentioned on the previous page, the interactions that you participate in by watching CommSpheres are broken up into three waves.
Helpful Hint
Quick reminder: these are cutscenes, so follow the steps and order listed in this guide, and don’t exit any of them early. The Story Completion Percent is always tied to a particular line of dialogue spoken by someone through the CommSphere.
In this section of the guide, there is a checkbox for each line of dialogue you hear while observing a CommSphere that triggers Story Completion Percent. Use this to track the scenes and make sure you’ve viewed them all. You can also use the “Mark All Scenes as Watched” checkbox to mark them off more quickly.
For “Wave 1,” only four of the CommSpheres will be unlocked. So let’s get started…
Celsius
You also received two Crimson Spheres at the end of the previous chapter that appear in Shinra’s “Treasure Spheres” menu. Open the menu and watch “Crimson Record 2” and “Crimson Record 3.”
View Crimson Records 2 and 3 in Shinra’s Treasure Spheres menu. You can do this in later chapters as well, but you may as well watch them now.
After watching the four scenes above, you can now trigger new dialogue scenes with both Buddy and Paine aboard the Celsius. Start by talking to Buddy, and the team will decide to put on a show for the people of Spira.
But you’re not headed to the Moonflow just yet. For starters, you have a scene with Paine to trigger:
Speak to Paine before you depart for the Moonflow. She has some dialogue that triggers after you’ve spoken to Buddy, which you can complete before or after the second wave of CommSphere videos. If you’ve already traveled to the Moonflow and interacted with Tobli in Chapter 4, this scene can no longer be triggered.
Now it’s time to get started on Wave 2 of the CommSpheres, which are available after you check the first four (listed above) but BEFORE you head to the Moonflow.
