Limit Breaks: Cloud

A full list of Cloud’s Limit Breaks are included below. Cloud has a total of seven Limit Breaks that he can learn.

Level 1

Braver
How to obtain it:
This is the Limit Break that Cloud starts the game with.

Effect:
Deals damage to a single enemy. It does 3.0x the normal damage that Cloud’s weapon does when using the Attack command.

Cross-slash
How to obtain it:
Use Braver a total of 8 times in battle.

Effect:
Deals damage to a single enemy. It hits three times in total and deals 3.25x the normal damage the Cloud’s weapon does when using the Attack command. Also has a chance of inflicting the “Paralyze” status effect.

Level 2

Blade Beam
How to obtain it:
Defeat 120 enemies in battle.

Effect:
Deals damage to the first enemy that you target for 3.5x the normal damage the Cloud’s weapon does when using the Attack command. A secondary beam will burst from the first enemy you hit which will hit all of the other enemies on the battlefield. This secondary beam hits for 1.0x the normal damage.

Climhazzard
How to obtain it:
Use Blade Beam a total of 7 times in battle.

Effect:
Deals damage to a single enemy. It does 4.375x the normal damage that Cloud’s weapon does when using the Attack command.

Level 3

Meteorain
How to obtain it:
Defeat 200 enemies in battle after you have obtained Blade Beam.

Effect:
Deals damage randomly to any enemy on the battlefield. Meteorain launches six meteors towards enemies which will each hit for 1.625x the damage that Cloud’s weapon does when using the Attack command. There is no way to direct the meteors and they will hit enemies randomly potentially resulting in them all hitting the same target.

Finishing Touch
How to obtain it:
Use Meteorain a total of 6 times in battle.

Effect:
Inflicts the “Instant Death” status effect on enemies. Many enemies are immune to “Instant Death” status effect and instead will be hit by an attack equal to 3.125x the damage that Cloud’s weapon does when using the Attack command.

Level 4

Omnislash
How to obtain it:
Use the Omnislash item to teach this Limit Break to Cloud. You can find the Omnislash item by completing the Battle Square side quest. Click on the link for more information.

Effect:
Deals damage randomly to any enemy on the battlefield. Cloud will attack with his sword a total of 15 times. All of the attacks (including the final attack) will hit for 0.75x the damage that Cloud’s weapon does when using the Attack command.

The Slash to End All Slashes

You will also receive the The Slash to End All Slashes Trophy once you teach Cloud his Level 4 Limit Break, Omnislash, using the Omnislash item that you can obtain in Battle Square.
