Basic male class wielding sword and shield, having gained enough experience to fight on his own. Visual: The fighter is just a miniature knight. He yields a sword and appears to be clad in full metal armor.
Short Sword
Chain Mail
Round Shield
Iron Helm
The fighter is a really good front line defender early in the game. I found that it certainly wasn’t bad to have three fighters and two archers as the entire team. Fighters start off with a really crappy sword though, so upgrading their weapon should be a key factor. They are a very good upgrade from the previous form, the soldier, as their attack increases greatly.
Knight clad in full armor, who fights for pride and honor. His offensive and defensive capabilities are well-balanced. Visual: The Knight holds a shield, and appears to guard himself well with it. He wears full metal armor.
Baldr Sword
Plate Armor
Kite Shield
Armet
The Knight is outstanding. They’re really good from the moment you first get them. His basic weapon, the Baldr sword is very good, so his attacks are very good. I recommend putting the Knight where the fighters used to be. The Knight is just as great for front line attacking and defending as the fighter, only his stats have been increased.
Fearless warrior with extraordinary strength and toughness. He attacks with full might, regardless of status. Visual: The Berserker is a huge warrior. He appears to be a muscular man, wearing a barbarian hat and yielding an axe.

Iron Helm
I never really used the berserker because I was always trying to get my alignment up, and this character had a very low alignment. I always had one though, because one of the main characters, Asnabel, was a Berserker. This beastly human will attack, no matter where you put it, no matter what weapon. It never uses magic. It is very strong, but I found that a lot of enemies can easily avoid its attacks.
Experienced swordsman whose distinct style allows him to move swiftly and wield a greatsword with ease. Visual: The Fencer appears to be from China. He wears a pointed, cone like hat, and green kilt. He carries his sword behind him, much like the Knight.
Bastard Sword
Cloth Armor

Jin-gasa
The fencer is great. When you get it, it will have a powerful weapon, and will attack with amazing strength. I recommend that you use these guys in the front row, and make tons of them. The Fencers have gotten me out of some pretty sticky situations. They’re just basically the upgraded Knight, and they get plenty of attacks. Their swords are very rare though, so finding a better one is very hard to do.
Heavy infantryman equipped with a spear and a large round shield. This class plays a pivotal role in defense. Visual: The Phalanx is basically a fully armored Knight. He carries a large round shield beside him, and yields a spear pointed straight forward.
Spear
Plate Mail
Large Shield
Iron Helm
The Phalanx is pretty cool if you have one, but I see no reason to create one unless you have to. Like the description says, if you use one, its good for defending. So if you want to spend your time on the defending end of the battle and not the winning end, I suggest you use these guys. Although, Troy, the golden Phalanx, is cool to keep. These guys are useless in the back row, so I usually didn’t have them because I kept much more important classes up front.
With whip in hand, the Beast Tamer controls beasts and brings out their full potential. Visual: Like in the description, the Beast Tamer is just basically a man without armor who yields a whip. He has a beard, and off-white pants.

Although they say that the Beast Tamer brings out the best in beasts, I don’t know how that works. I also wouldn’t recommend this, because that would mean having the beast tamer as your unit leader, usually. I don’t really like their moves, and you might want a Cleric, or Priest in there, so this is not an ideal team. So I don’t prefer to use them. The Beast Tamers best attacks come from the front line, and if you put Monsters or Dragons with it, their only good attack when they start is in the front, so one of them has to go, and I suggest that it not be the Monsters or Dragons. They make for pretty good attacking units though, if you place them with back up, and other attackers.
This Class uses a doll as a weapon, and commands golems. Visual: A fully dressed man who has a Puppet on a string in front of him. The puppet moves on its own, when he attacks. He’s dressed in green.
Marionette
Robe
Amulet
Bandanna
I don’t usually use these guys. They don’t look very cool. But, if you use one, there is a certain weapon that you can equip it that gives it really cool powers, it’s called Gallant Doll. You can receive it as a birthday present. It ups all the stats of the Doll Master, and has a really cool attack. Other than that, I suggest not wasting your time. The cool thing about them though is that their best attacks come from the middle line, and the back line, so it allows for quite a bit of variation in where he can go, because he can leave a lot of room open for others, as he is one of very few that are good in the middle row.
Martial artist with great agility, who wields a set of claws and eliminates all who stand in his way. Visual: The Ninja is a man dressed in green, who wears a small back pack and has two claws on his arms. His clothing has a hood.
Iron Claw
Ninja’s Garb
-
Hachigane
The Ninja is pretty cool. It gains some awesome weapons, and it has the potential to attack quite a few times. I wouldn’t suggest using too many of them, they are more of a back up character who just help the really good characters in a unit.
Male spellcaster who devotes his life to uncovering the mysteries of magic. Visual: A Male who is dressed in a green cloak, and has a long white beard. He carries his staff in front of him, and the bottom of his cloak is yellow.
Scipplay Staff
Robe
Spellbook
Amulet
The wizard is an amazing support character. Just stick him in the back row and he’ll do a whole lot of damage to help the attackers in the front. Two Wizards put on the same row will combine their magic together to form a much more powerful spell, once the two are used to working with each other. They can also combine their magic with the Sorceress. Depending on the element of the character, is what type of spells it will cast while holding its default weapon, the spellbook.
Attaining knighthood, he has the ability to draw magical power out of his sword. Visual: A replica of the Knight, who has a crown on his helm, and a much more colorful shield. He has gold rims all along his large armor.
Blessed Sword
Baldr Armor
Kite Shield
Baldr Helm
Holy Crap! This knight is awesome. No matter how you put it, he’s cool. He has an awesomely powerful attack and looks amazing. Even if he gets attacked from behind he’ll still have a good move, because the Paladin can heal from the back row, with its basic weapon, the Blessed Sword. I recommend getting as many of these guys as you can, and putting them in the front row of your units.
Knight clad in pitch black armor that strikes fear in his enemies. He has the ability to draw magical power out of his weapon. Visual: Basically, a beefed up Knight who is entirely black. He has no shield, and he has a gold collar around the neck of his armor. The Black Knight yields a Two Handed Hammer/Axe.
Satan’s Bullova
Baldr Armor
Valiant Mantle
Armet
The Black Knight is pretty cool. It uses a weapon that not very many other characters can use: The Two Handed Axe / Hammer. It has a magical attack in the back, which is also useful. The Black Knight is great when you equip it with a fire crest. This unit can become ULTIMATELY POWERFUL if you equip it with all the right things. Don’t hesitate to add a few of these to your ranks.
The master swordsman, whose strikes are so swift that hey create powerful shock waves. Visual: The Sword Master wears no armor. Instead, he wears a brown cloak, like monks wear. Only it’s tied around the waist. He carries a Greatsword.
Claymore

Hachihgane
This unit is very good. It is basically the best simple character you can get. Although, better weapons for this character aren’t very plentiful and are usually one of a kind. Having to many of this character won’t always be such a good thing. It is, however, a good unit to stick in the front row as it has three attacks there, which are all very high. This is an overall very good character. It’s basically the final evolution of the Knight. It is better than the Paladin.
Heavy infantryman protected with full-body armor and an enormous shield. His impenetrable defense more than makes up for his lack of speed. Visual: The Cataphract is fully armored, and is green and blue in color. He has a rectangular shield, and a spear, and there’s a crest on his helm.
Baldr Spear
Heavy Armor
Tower Shield
Armet
The Cataphract is an okay unit. It isn’t the best and it isn’t the worst. The most I’ve ever had to use them was in Ankiseth’s team, and they were pretty good help for Ankiseth. They actually make for pretty good front line warriors. I changed them as soon as I could though, because they’re only good defenders, not attackers.
The master Beast Tamer, who can communicate with beasts and elevate their potential above their limits. Visual: The Beast Master looks exactly like the Beast Tamer. He holds a whip, and has no shirt. He has a beard, but the Beast Masters beard is white, not brown.
Rupture Rose

This character is exactly like the Beast Tamer, only his beard is white. I haven’t ever tested him with beasts such as dragons, but I have had Gilbert for a while, and he’s actually pretty good. I’d say that the Beast Master is an okay character, but there are many I would choose over him. If you use lots of Beast Tamers, then this is a perfect upgrade for them.
Considered the elite Doll Master, this class is capable of breathing life into dolls and golems. Visual: The Enchanter is just like the Doll Master, except is wearing a blue cloak. He has a doll on strings too, which disconnects when he attacks.
Fool
Magician’s Robe
Amulet
Bandanna
I never particularly liked these doll people, but again, its pretty good if you have the right weapon for it. By the right weapon, I mean the Gallant Doll. Well, other than that I never much used the Enchanter. You could easily find ways to throw the Enchanter into a team that has a few characters though, as this class has no bad traits.
One who stands above wizards. With his vast arcane knowledge, he is able to cast area-effect spells. Visual: The Archmage looks like the wizard, except it’s wearing a funny hat, not a hood. It wears a yellow kilt underneath its green cloak.
Arc Wand
Magician’s Robe
Spellbook
Amulet
The Archmage is awesome. It has the ability to cast its magic spell upon all members of the enemy unit. It is a great support unit that can be great at attacking your enemies from behind your front line characters. I say that any good unit has at least one Archmage in it. Once it is equipped with a Drakonite book, it’s basically invincible. It can also combine its attack with other Arch Mages or Sirens.
Head of Ninjas. He has gained the ability to wield a special form of magic, called ninjutsu. Visual: The Ninja Master wears a full blue body suit, and wears a mask over his face. He has claws on his arms.
Baldr Claw
Ninja’s Garb
-
Hannya Mask
The Ninja Master is pretty good. The only thing that’s so good about him is that he gets to attack three times. His little Ninja Art move is okay, but he can’t use it as much as he can use rend in the front. I recommend having just a few of these among your ranks. A great upgrade from the Ninja, because you can actually use these to greatly better any team.
Also known as a Dragon Killer, this class is trained to single-handedly vanquish fearsome dragons. Visual: The Dragoon wears full gold armor, with a green kilt over his pants. He has feathers in his golden helm, and has a giant sword.
Sword of Tiamat
Dragon Armor
-
Dragon Helm
Make sure you don’t waste your only Dragoon on a crappy character. That was the sad mistake I made. The Dragoon is a very awesome character because is has an amazing attack strength. It only has a good attack strength if it’s previous character did too. The better the old character, the better the Dragoon. Remember: it’s only possible to get one.
The undead ruler of the night. His power is formidable indeed, but he must stay within his coffin during the day. Visual: The Vampire wears a dark blue shirt and pants, and has blue hair. He has a huge white collar around his neck, and has elf ears.
When Alseep (During the Day)
-
Count’s Garment
-
Bloody Emblem
I never much used the Vampire. First of all, he’s hard to get. No one could find this without help. Second of all, he can’t walk around in the daytime, so his whole group has to stop moving. Third of all you can only have one, so going through all the trouble is not worth it. Lastly they aren’t very strong. I have been told by many people that Vampires are actually quite strong, but I disagree.
One who ceased to exist as a human being in order to further pursue the way of magic. Visual: The Lich is an ugly character. It has a ragged dark blue cloak, and wears a golden head band. Its face is grey with age. It carries a staff in its left hand.
Kerykeion
Bloodstained Robe
Book of Bane
Ring of the Dead
The Lich is obviously the best magic user. You can get up to two of them, and the change is not reversible. Make sure you use it on someone who will make good use of it. You can find up to two Ring of the Deads. The lich has the ability to cast magic on an area of effect, so it hurts multiple people. She is very strong, and grows in ability very fast. Make use of the Lich as soon as you can, because this ugly little character is quite useful.
Title given to the leader of the Berthan Sentinels, whose leadership is such that he is capable of commanding a legion. Visual: The Centurion wears all white and has a funny looking hat. He is armored with a sword.
Baldr Sword
Plate Armor
Buckler
Baldr Helm
The Centurion is okay. Its got a pretty good attack, and defense, and can lead a legion. I don’t normally make legions, so I wouldn’t know much about the Centurion.
