Where There’s a Will

This page provides an overview of how to complete the Where There’s a Will Optional Quest.

This is one of the many quests that become available during Back to Their Origin after you have spoken to some of the NPCs around the Hideaway.

Quest Details

Travel to the Tabor Obelisk in Eastern Dhalmekia. Head inside the nearby “Clayhearth” building to trigger a conversation with Cyril. During the conversation, Cyril will provide Clive with Archduke Elwin’s Testament.

Go up the nearby stairs and into “The Requietory” on the second level of Tabor to find and speak with “Cyril’s Guest.”

The next destination is along “Titan’s Wake.” Travel to The Gilded Path Obelisk, mount your Chocobo, and travel west towards Titan’s Wake until you encounter Simurgh.

Simurgh is just another gryphon-type creature, similar to Dozmare, with one new attack. It will sometimes use an attack called “Witch’s Ladder,” which summons a large, slow-moving tornado that you’ll have to dodge. But, otherwise, this fight is pretty easy to deal with. Defeating the gryphon will reward you with two Heartstones.

Warp back to the Tabor Obelisk and head into the Requietory to speak with Goditha one more time, and then exit the Requietory to trigger another conversation with Cyril. Your next destination is Archduke Elwin’s memorial.

Travel to the Hawk’s Cry Cliff Obelisk and follow the Optional Quest Marker around the back of the cliff to find Archduke Elwin’s grave marker and trigger a short cutscene. This concludes the quest.

More importantly than these rewards, though, is that you’ll be “joining hands with Joshua.” Joshua will now join your party for the remainder of the game except for the final events in Origin.
