This page provides an overview of how to complete the 
Blacksmith’s Blues III Optional Quest.

This quest and two others become available once you complete the short “Like Father, Like Daughter” Main Scenario Subquest during 
A Song of Hope.
Quest Giver and Location
Look for August again; the same NPC that started the last Blacksmith’s Blues quest. He’s standing in the mess of the Hideaway.
Quest Details
The first step of this quest is to speak to Blackthorne at 
The Black Hammer. After that, it’ll be time to travel to the town of Dravozd. This is easy to do if you’ve already activated the 
Dravozd Obelisk; otherwise, you’ll have to travel there by 
Chocobo from the Tabor Obelisk.
Speak to August, standing just outside the gates, for a cutscene. Once inside, and after the cutscene has concluded, head up the stairs and speak with Zoltan for another cutscene. Speak to Blackthorne one more time after that.
Exit the town, hop on your Chocobo and ride out into the center of the Fields of Corava to track down a ‘desert salamander.’ This Desert Salamander is just another aevis-type enemy similar to the ones you’ve faced before. Defeat it, collect the 
Salamander Skin, and warp back to Dravozd.
Speak to Blackthorne in Dravozd and then one more time at the Hideaway to provide him with the Pit-coal Cinder to complete the quest.
