A Tail to Tell
This page provides an overview of how to complete the A Tail to Tell Optional Quest.
Unlock Conditions
This quest is unlocked when you reach 
Back to Their Origin, the last Main Scenario Quest. You’ll also need to complete An Inconvenient Truth to unlock the missive that begins this quest.
Quest Giver and Location
This quest is activated by reading a missive called 
Making Amends. The missives can be found at the 
Reading Table in Clive’s Chambers in the Hideaway.
Quest Details
Head over to the shelves and speak with Harpocrates. The next quest destination after that is a long way away.
Travel to the 
Eistla Obelisk and exit town to the south. Hop on your 
Chocobo and make your way toward the quest marker, which is near “Rikmal’s Roost” in the center of the Angry Gap.
You’ll have to defeat an Akashic Lindwurm near the quest item. This enemy is an aevis-type dragon similar to the ones you’ve fought before. Pick up the 
Wild Wyvern Tail off the ground and then head back to the Hideaway.
Speak with Harpocrates and then with Dion to complete the quest.
