The section provides an overview of how to track down and defeat the Notorious Mark for the Severian Hunt.
In-Game Description
“A particularly belligerent breed of echo has recently awakened amid the Fallen ruins near Martha’s Rest. It is known to activate on the approach of any human, armed or unarmed, and sets about them with a burning jet that has already reduced much of the surrounding marshland to ash. This is one echo that the Cursebreakers would fain see forever silenced.”
Unlock Conditions
This hunt is available after completing the 
Fire and Ice Main Scenario Quest.
Notorious Mark Location
Travel to the 
Martha’s Rest Obelisk. Severian can be found just outside of town in the northwest section of Sorrowise.
Battle Tactics

This enemy is nearly identical to the Fallen Guardian that you fought in the Hall of the Ancestors during the Buried Memories Main Scenario Quest. Its attacks include:
- A lunging strike forward
- A slashing forward arc
- A glowing explosion: a large blue bubble will form around it; just jump out of range or dodge at the right time, followed by another ring of explosions slightly farther out. You can dodge out of the first explosion and then jump back in to deal damage to Severian during the second explosion.
- Two-sword slash: both swords are pulled out and aimed upwards, before slashing in a wide cone in front.
- Magic Orbs (New): This is a new attack that the Fallen Guardian didn’t have. Severian’s two arms will glow before it launches two orbs of magic at Clive. These can be reflected back at Severian with a
Heatwave counterattack. Just remember to quickly dodge the second orb if you counterattack the first one. - Eradicate: Severian will turn to face Clive just before it starts spinning forward with two whirlwind swords. Dodge around to the backside of it and attack it from behind while it spins, and dodge the orbs of magic emanating out from it as well.
