Before the “Hunter and the Hunted” Main Scenario Quest begins, there are a few things to take care of once Clive returns to the dungeons of the Hideaway. Speak with Charon and you’ll have the option of purchasing either of the following two items:

These two pieces of gear are fairly comparable to what you’re wearing already, if not a slight downgrade, but you’ll be able to upgrade them fairly soon, so it doesn’t hurt to buy them now.

Finally, after making it this many chapters into Final Fantasy Mode, you’re beginning to reach equipment levels that are comparable to what you’re wearing. Unfortunately, though, these two pieces of gear can’t be reinforced, otherwise they would probably be better than Clive’s current gear.

More importantly, though, speak with Blackthorne at The Black Hammer, and he will be able to craft a new sword for Clive.

There’s also a new weapon that can be forged at The Black Hammer, but this will not be stronger than Omega Weapon.

You won’t be using this weapon for long because another upgrade will become available, but the only material you need to craft it is the Wind Shard that you received as spoils for defeating Garuda. There’s no point in keeping the Wind Shard for later, as it has no other uses later on in the game.
