The Faultwarrens are an area of the map that you gain access to after completing Mission 34 - Zenobia, the Butcher. Missions 35 through 51 can be found within the Faultwarrens and these Missions collectively make up the “Titan’s Trials”. You can reach the Faultwarrens by traveling back to Haerii Archaeopolis and climbing the wall near the Cie’th Waystone.
A short cinematic will play after you keep walking along the path past the Save Station involving the gigantic Fal’Cie, Titan, the guardian of Gran Pulse’s ecosystem. You will also get a quick Primer notification which provides a rough layout of how the Titan’s Trials are structured.
The premise is fairly straightforward. You will start off on in A1 after accepting Mission 35 - The Road Less Traveled from the Cie’th Stone just up ahead and then you can choose your pathway through the Titan’s Trials each time you enter. This means that you will end up having to repeat many of the same Missions quite a few times to reach each of the final Missions which can be found in E1, E2, E3, E4, E5 and E6.
Use the chart below to help you navigate to each of the Missions as you reach them. The name next to the letter is the name you will see for each area if you open up the menu screen and check the map:
Faultwarrens | Mission | Treasure |
---|---|---|
A1 - Primeval Crossroads | Mission 35 - The Road Less Traveled | |
B1 - A Dance of Shadow | Mission 36 - Dark Deliverance | Gold Dust Starblossom Seed |
B2 - A Dance of Light | Mission 37 - Dying of the Light | |
C1 - Via Lunae | Mission 38 - Moonlit Madness | Saint’s Amulet |
C2 - Via Stellarum | Mission 39 - Seeing Stars | |
C3 - Via Solis | Mission 40 - Solar Power | Starblossom Seed |
D1 - The Gaian Path | Mission 41 - Gaian Grudge | Warding Talisman |

E1 - Titan’s Throne | Mission 45 - Emergent Evolution | |
E2 - Titan’s Throne | Mission 46 - On Silent Wings | |
E3 - Titan’s Throne | Mission 47 - Unfocused Rage | |
E4 - Titan’s Throne | Mission 48 - The Abyss Stares Back | |
E5 - Titan’s Throne | Mission 49 - Tyrannicide | |
E6 - Titan’s Throne | Mission 50 - Road to Predation |
Each area of the Faultwarrens will have two Missions that become available that lead into the next area. For example, if you are in area B1 - A Dance of Shadow, you can activate either Mission 38 which will take you to C1 - Via Lunae or Mission 39 which will take you to C2 - Via Stellarum.
All of the pathways will eventually lead you to the Titan’s Throne and, depending on the path you took (E1, E2, etc.) you will face a different Mission / Enemy when you reach Titan.
Missions 45 and 46 are probably the two hardest Missions in this area. Consider going to section E1 and E2 last after you have completed the other Missions and have gone through the other pathways of the Faultwarrens. There is no requirement to complete them in any specific order.
There are Treasure Spheres which can be picked up in some areas. Use the chart above and the map below to help you locate them.
[Map]You will receive a different set of rewards for completing Missions after the first attempt. These rewards usually include Bomb Fragments, Bomb Shells and Bomb Cores. Keep an eye on your inventory to make sure you don’t reach the maximum inventory amount of any of these items which is 99.
After completing each of the other Missions listed in the chart above, a message will appear on the screen stating that “A new trial now awaits you!”, with no other details provided. This new Mission can be accessed from D1, D2, D3 or D4 (the Cie’th Stone appears in all four areas).
Check out the Mission page for more information:
Your rewards for completing this last Mission include a Genji Glove and the new rank of “Guardian of Virtue”. This is everything that you can do in the Faultwarrens besides re-attempting any of the missions either for Crystogen Points (CP) or to try and get a 5 Star Battle Results Rating.
