Hunt 04: Waterway Haunting

This Hunt can be done any time after the Barheim Passage has been completed, but you should make sure to visit Old Dalan and the Sandsea to get Basch, Balthier and Fran back in the party with Vaan before attempting the fight.
Milha in the Northern Sprawl of Lowtown in the northeast corner of the map. She is standing in front of one of the residences trying to convince a child to come out of the locked house. The child is apparently afraid of a ghost that has been wandering around in the Garamsythe Waterway.
The Wraith can be found in the Garamsythe Waterways. Travel back to Storehouse Five where you met up with Kytes the first time and take the elevator down into the Garamsythe Waterway. The Wraith is located in the same room where you fought Firemane – one of the first rooms as you enter.
Steal: Glass Jewel, Dark Magicite, Hi-Potion
The difficult aspect of this fight has to do with speed. You need to kill the Wraith before Doom takes affect and all of your party members are killed. The Wraith is going to start the fight by casting Doom on all of your party members. Doom will instantly kill each person once the timer (which is visible above that party member’s head) counts down from 10 to 0.
Doom cannot be prevented by silencing the Wraith but if you have a Mage Masher weapon it can still come in handy for Silencing some of the Wraith’s other attacks. It may also cast Poison or Sleep on your party members if not Silenced as well. You can also prepare for the fight by casting Shell Magick on each of your party members. This won’t prevent Doom outright but it will provide a chance that a party member will resist it for one turn giving you more time before the end of the battle.
Throw all of your best attacks at the Wraith and bring it down as quickly as you can. Set up a Phoenix Down Gambit in case any of your party members are KO'd. Run out of the Garamsythe Waterway immediately after the battle is finished so that your party members don’t die. Touch a Save Crystal anywhere in Rabanastre and the Doom status effect will be removed.
Return to Milha and the scared child (named Deeg) will come out of the locked residence. A Jovial Seeq will come by to pick the child up. The reward for completing this Hunt is 500 gil, Gauntlets and an Ether.
Note that you should enter the Private Residence after you have completed this Hunt and pick up the Dusty Letter lying on the table. The Dusty Letter is part of the Three Medallions side quest that can be completed later on in the game.
