Thalaos

The section provides an overview of how to track down and defeat the Notorious Mark for the Thalaos Hunt.
In-Game Description
“A corporeal manifestation of the Dominant Waljas’s fear and anguish, this waterbound elemental—or egi—carved a trail of slaughter through Mysidia’s primeval wood before arriving at the foot of Languor Falls. According to the people of Haven, it was here that the baby’s mother was said to have taken her life upon learning her son’s fate.”

Notorious Mark Battle

Class: XXX
HP: XXX
Thalaos doesn’t have an official Notorious Mark “rank,” but if it did, it would be low. It has a couple of surprise attacks to throw your way, but otherwise, it’s pretty easy to defeat. Here are some attacks to watch out for:
- Water Wall: Thalaos will push Clive back and then summon walls of water, which will rush forward towards him. You can dodge them by moving towards the openings in the walls of water or dodging right through them as they rush forward. Note that there are two versions of this attack with different water wave sequences.
- Water Blasts: This is similar to Leviathan’s Water Blast attacks, but the blasts appear in lines in front of Thalaos, and you can dodge them by moving out of its direct line of sight.
- Water Streams: Thalaos will summon three orbs of water, which will have a beam of light coming out of them, indicating where they are about to hit. Thalaos will rotate as it casts them, so they’ll hit a reasonably wide area that you’ll need to dodge away from.
Thalaos doesn’t have much HP, so going all in with your Eikonic Abilities is usually the easiest way to power through this fight.

Optional Quest

“On a forbidden foray into the forest, Ayrik met with a fearsome beast capable of felling trees and upending the earth with blasts of water. There’s only one way of telling whether this fiend really exists, or is merely the product of the boy’s overactive imagination…”

This quest begins from a missive called (Unmarked).
“Often is it that letters requesting aid find their way to Clive’s reading desk. Rarer, though, are occasions when said letters are anonymous. Even rarer still, however, are occasions when the aid in question is to rescue an Eikon thought lost for several centuries. This so happens to be one of those rarest of occasions.”
