Shrouds are a category of item that you will pick up from Treasure Spheres, or as drops from enemies as you progress through the game. They can be activated while on the world map, and they must be activated before you engage an enemy in battle. A Shroud can be activated by pressing the 
or 
button.
Here are the different types of Shrouds that you can activate:
| Shroud | Description |

 Aegisol |
Casts  Protect,  Shell,  Veil and  Vigilance at the start of a battle. |
| Fortisol |
Casts  Bravery,  Faith and  Haste at the start of a battle. |
| Deceptisol |
Makes the party more difficult for enemies to detect allowing you to sneak past enemies or get a  preemptive strike. This should be used sparingly as your party members will need to engage in fights to earn Crystogen Points (CP), however, you can use them to make use of the Deceptisol Canceling trick. | Ethersol |
Restores your party’s Technical Points (TP). |
Shrouds tend to be quite rare so it’s important that you save them for special occasions and important battles. This strategy guide will identify opportunities where a Shroud might turn the tide of a battle, so be sure to save them for these fights.
Retaining Your Shrouds
Helpful Hint
It’s important to note that Shrouds are a one-time use, but if you use them, and the battle doesn’t go well, select the “Retry” option and any Shrouds that you used will be returned to your inventory.
