Trial Mode - Stages 21 to 30

Tips on how to complete each of the Stages and a list of the items that can be picked up from treasure chests or stolen from the enemies. Note that you need to have Diamond Armlet equipped in order to obtain the treasure listed. Opening the treasure chest without a Diamond Armlet will result in you receiving consumable and expendable items.

Stage 21
King Bomb, Bomb (x3)
Battle against Vultures during Trial Mode Stage 20

This battle is similar to the one against the optional mini-boss, King Bomb, that can be found in the Grand Bower area of the Salikawood. Set up your characters with Gambits to use Handkerchiefs and the Esuna spell to get rid of the Oil status effect which will reduce the amount of damage that King Bomb’s Fire-based Magicks will do. You should also Dispel King Bomb at the beginning of the fight and you can cast Silence on it if you are having difficulty defeating it.

Stolen:
- Common: Onion Bombs
- Uncommon: Flametongue
- Rare: Oil Bombs

Treasure Chests:
- Horned Hat
- Vox

Stage 22
Topstalk, Deadly Nightshade (x8)
Battle against Topstalk and the Deadly Nightshades during Trial Mode Stage 22

This Stage and the next 4 stages after it are fairly straight forward. Defeat Topstalk and the surrounding Deadly Nightshades by focusing down Topstalk first and hitting the remaining Deadly Nightshades with Area of Effect (AoE) attacks.

Treasure Chests:
- Ringmail
- Horology

Stage 23
Pumpkin Star, Pumpkin Head (x8)
Battle against Pumpkin Star and Pumpkin Heads during Trial Mode Stage 23

Defeat Pumpkin Star and the surrounding Pumpkin Heads by focusing down Pumpkin Star first and hitting the remaining Deadly Nightshades with Area of Effect (AoE) attacks. They will be found sleeping over in the corner and you can usually defeat them one at a time without waking the other Pumpkins.

Treasure Chests:
- Calot Hat
- Blizzard

Stage 24
Mandragora Prince, Mandragora (x8)
Battle against Mandragora Prince during Trial Mode Stage 24

Defeat the Mandragora Prince and the surrounding Mandragoras by focusing down the Mandragora Prince first and hitting the remaining Mandragoras with Area of Effect (AoE) attacks. They will cast Sleep on your party members, so equip them with Ribbons or Nishijin Belts to prevent them from being affected.

Treasure Chests:
- Aqua Shot
- Shepherd’s Bolero

Stage 25
Onion Queen, Wild Onion (x8)
Battle against the Onion Queen during Trial Mode Stage 25

Defeat the Onion Queen and the surrounding Wild Onions by focusing down the Onion Queen first and hitting the remaining Wild Onion with Area of Effect (AoE) attacks. These enemies tend to run around the battlefield so have fun chasing each of them down.

Treasure Chests:
- Poisona
- Iron Helm

Stage 26
Alraune King, Alraune (x8)
Battle against Alraune King during Trial Mode Stage 26

Defeat the Alraune King and the surrounding Alraune enemies by focusing down the Alraune King first and then hitting the remaining Alraune with Area of Effect (AoE) attacks. The Alraune enemies will put themselves into a Berserk status, which means that they will hit harder than some of the previous enemies, so be prepared to take some additional damage.

Treasure Chests:
- Iron Helm
- Protect

Stage 27
Alraune King, Mandragora Prince, Onion Queen, Pumpkin Star, Topstalk
Battle against the Mandragoras during Trial Mode Stage 27

This battle is very similar to the boss battle against the Mandragoras when you first enter the Sochen Cave Palace on the way to Archades. Make sure that you have an Esuna Gambit setup to deal with the negative status effects, such as Blind, Sleep, Slow, Disable, Silence and Sap. Area of Effect (AoE) attacks are still extremely effective when all five of the Mandragoras are grouped up together.

Stolen:
- Alraune King: Pheasant Netsuke
- Mandragora Prince: Sash
- Onion Queen: Bowline Sash
- Pumpkin Star: Nishijin Belt
- Topstalk: Black Belt

Treasure Chests:
- Shell
- Gauntlets

Stage 28
Wendice, Striker (x2)
Battle against Wendice during Trial Mode Stage 28

These are just standard enemies that do not require any particular strategy to defeat. They are weak to Wind-elemental Magicks such as Aero or Aeroga if you are having trouble defeating them.

You can make an optional enemy, Cubus, appear by traveling to the corners of the map.

Poached from Striker:
- Reverse Mote

Drops from Cubus:
- Rare: Chaos Mace
- Very Rare: Elixir

Stolen from Wendice:
- Common: Lightning Arrows
- Uncommon: Black Bolts
- Rare: Stun Bombs

Stolen from Cubus:
- Common: Six-fluted Pole
- Uncommon: Halberd
- Rare: Mirror Mail

Treasure Chests:
- Stun Bombs
- Black Belt

Stage 29
Ahriman
Battle against Ahriman during Trial Mode Stage 29

This battle is similar to the boss battle at the end of the Sochen Cave Palace against Ahriman. You may have to defeat several “copies” of it if you allow it to use its Divide move. It can also potentially inflict the Immobilize status effect – use Esuna, Germina Boots (called Jackboots in the original version) or Ribbons to prevent your characters from being Immobilized.

Stolen:
- Common: Thief’s Cuffs
- Uncommon: Hypnocrown
- Rare: Black Robes

Treasure Chests:
- Bamboo Arrows
- Nishijin Belt

Stage 30
Gil Snapper, Storm Elementals (x3)
Battle against Gil Snapper during Trial Mode Stage 30

The final stage before you can save. This battle is the exact same as the battle against the Gil Snapper for Hunt 36: Paradise Risen. Make sure that you have a tank set up with Decoy, Protect and Bubble and cast Silence on it to prevent it from doing additional Magick damage. Thunder, Thundara and Thundaga work particularly well against Gil Snapper. Bansat, the Seeq, will join you for this battle once again.

Stolen:
- Common: Turtleshell Choker
- Rare: Thief’s Cuffs

Treasure Chests:
- Blazer Gloves
- Lead Bolts
- Bangle

You will receive an additional set of rewards upon completion of Stage 30 that includes:
